Black Bear
Montana High Country Tours, Inc
6 Day Spring Bear HuntFrom $2,000 to $2,500
Montana, United States • Bears are very active in the spring as they emerge from their winter nap and set out to replace body fat lost during hibernation. New growth grass and winter killed elk and deer are high on the menu. The spring bear hunt runs from mid April to mid June and can be hunted with either a bow or rifle. Remember your bear license must be purchased before opening day of the bear season. You will want to bring your varmint gun and plenty of ammo along on this hunt. We have a hard working, professional staff and A-1 top-notch equipment. Personal service is a must on all of our hunts. To insure this we limit the number of clients per week and have a low client to guide ratio, either 1 on 1 or 2 on 1, unless other arrangements are made. We have the exclusive commercial hunting rights to 250,000 acres of the Beaverhead National Forest, BLM, Montana State Lands and private property where the elevations range from 5,000 feet up to 11,000 feet. Our hunting terrain varies from wind swept peaks above timberline to heavily wooded forest areas, from open ridges and parks to sagebrush-covered hillsides and even dense willow covered river bottoms on private ranches. Our families have been hunting this same area for 3 generations. We have been outfitting in this area for 30 plus years, which totals to over 2250 days of guiding hunters in the same area. This gives you a real advantage in taking your trophy. Our guides have years of local hunting experience both archery and rifle and are experts in their field, giving you that extra edge. All of this translates into a high success rate for our hunters each year. We have a very high percentage of hunters that return year after year and will gladly provide references to anyone seriously considering one of our hunts.
Long Range Mountain Outfitters
Caribou HuntsStarting from $7,995
Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada • Our caribou hunts are limited in number due to an overall decline in the population across the entire island. Many trophy animals can still be found in our Caribou Management area, CMA 69. For many years the Woodland caribou populations on the Northern Peninsula rivaled numbers anywhere on the island with many trophy antlers taken each year. We had 100% success rate for caribou and average of 80% in the large animal range for many years. However, with the decline in numbers and limited licences available, you need to get that trophy now otherwise the opportunity may pass you by. Our Woodland Caribou hunts can be taken as a single species hunt or added to a Moose and Black Bear hunt for the Grand Slam! The black bear can only be combined with a moose or caribou hunt. We do not offer this hunt as a seperate hunt on it's own. The bears have lots of natural feed here in area 39 which allows them to grow to a very large size.
Moose HuntsStarting from $4,995
Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada • The province of Newfoundland has an estimated population of over 120,000 Eastern Canadian Moose, the most densely populated area in North America. Areas 39 & 39A have exceptional moose population density due to it's remote wilderness location, accessible with float plane only. The average antler size in our area is 36 to 40" and we take some every year in the 40 to 50 inch range. Overall success since 1993 has been 95% on Bull Moose. Long Range Mountain has two locations on the Eastern Side of the Norther Peninsula, on top of the Mountain range, in rolling hill country. The area has ideal Moose Terrain with small bogs and streams, small lakes, timbered valleys and barren peaks. The barren peaks can be utilized to glass and call the area for Moose. The black bear can only be combined with a moose or caribou hunt. We do not offer this hunt as a seperate hunt on it's own. The bears have lots of natural feed here in area 39 which allows them to grow to a very large size.
