• It's been a long grueling hike to get back into the timbered ridge where you spotted that trophy bull. You've seen the elk's bed in the meadow and you know that's where he laid up to chew his cud. About now, with the first bit of sunlight starting to stream through the trees, you know he's made his way back into the heavy timber somewhere near a third the way from the top of the ridge. And you know he'll have found a bump of some sort to bed down, watching his back trail.

Our Wise River base camp is nestled in the heart of the elk's wintering range, and let's us get close to our quarry by 4 WD and two feet. Our Rifle hunts are conducted from tent camps when the weather permits, but move to the warmth and comfort of the lodge as the heavy snows in the high country move the elk down to lower ground. Our lodge-based hunts combine the mobility and the flexibility to hunt the entirety of our permit areas.

• There are several ways to hunt elk, but none quite as adventurous as a horse camp deep in the Rocky Mountain wilderness. Located seven miles from the trailhead, our Castle Creek Elk Camp sets at 10,000 foot elevation and is outfitted with the finest quality tent accommodations available; a first-class traditional hunting camp with some modern amenities.
Our guides are knowledgeable, friendly, and unique fellows and have many years of experience guiding and hunting in the West Elks. These are the top guides in the area and we're thrilled they are a part of our staff.
First season bull or cow tags are limited in number, available through the draw, and take zero preference points. Second season bull tags are over the counter. Second season limited cow tags are also available through the draw and take zero preference points.

• There is a growing demand for natural meat products obtained from animals that are harvested from the wild. This ensures that they have not been exposed to antibiotics, steroids or other synthetic compounds during their growth. Elk are the most popular animal that fit into this category and the preferred meat when it comes to taste. This Hunt is offered during the winter months through the use of Private Landowner Vouchers or Utah DWR Depredation Permits and agreements with Landowners which allows Wild Eyez to Operate on the Landowners Property. These Elk are Wild, Free-Roaming Elk which encroach on Private Land and cause significant damage to crops, livestock, and containment systems. This hunt applies pressure on the Elk to winter in the foothills. This Hunt offers the hunter the opportunity to split their 5-day hunt into 2 separate time blocks and return for their second block of days should their first visit be unsuccessful.

The unit is managed by the Utah DWR for "Trophy" class Bull Elk and lives up to its reputation by producing 50-100 350+ B&C Bull Elk every year. • We offer semi-guided hunts during Rifle, Archery, and Blackpowder seasons from our base camp. This hunt includes meals, lodging, game packing from the kill site, and some directions as to how to hunt the area and where to start. You don't need to worry about keeping camp, cooking or cleaning dishes! We take care of that for you so all you need to do is hunt. There is no minimum group size requirement so come on your own or bring your hunting buddies. You can bring your atv or arrange for a rental on this hunt. This camp can be used to hunt any of the areas in unit 62 or unit 61, however we can only pack game in the permit area which is over 200 square miles in each unit. Call for a description of the unit 61 area if you draw a tag.
