Pigeye Outfitters
Upland Hunts
Montana, United States • Our upland season begins here in central Montana on September 1st and runs through the end of the year. I seldom take hunters after the end of November due to the possibility of adverse weather. We offer combination hunts for a number of different species, which include the Hungarian partridges, sharptail grouse, mountain grouse, (including both blue and ruffed), ring neck pheasant and limited sage grouse. All our birds are from wild populations. Expert guides, knowledgeable of the areas and certified by the state will accompany you on all hunts. Two hunters per guide is normal, although other special arrangements can be made. These hunts do require a fair amount of walking, but we will tailor each hunt to the abilities and limitations of the hunter. For those of you that may want to include an antelope in a hunt, we offer a combination upland bird and antelope hunt. Since both inhabit the same approximate areas we can hunt them at the same time.
Elk, Deer, Bear, Antelope Hunts
Montana, United States • At Pigeye Outfitters we offer specialized Big Game hunts for both archery and rifle for elk, whitetail and mule deer, antelope, and black bear. The elk/deer rifle season begins the last week in October and runs for 5 weeks ending the weekend following Thanksgiving. The archery season begins the first weekend in September and ends the first weekend in October. These hunts are geared to each individual's preferences and limitations. As with our upland hunts, we offer our hunts to a small number of guests at one time, 2 to 6. The Little Belt Mountains have a good population of black bears. What sets these bears apart from those in other areas is that there is a large number of other colors such as cinnamon and blonds. The spring season is April 15 to May 31. Montana offers a guaranteed elk/deer combination license for those who choose to hire an outfitter. This license also includes fishing and upland bird licenses.
Eastslope Outfitters
Upland Hunts
Montana, United States • Picture it: a crisp Fall day in Southeast Montana, with the air fresh, the colors glorious and the brush-filled draws exploding beneath you as the dogs flush out pheasant, sharptail grouse and Hungarian partridge. Bring good walking boots, as some days we'll cover a lot of ground. Most clients prefer their lighter 20-gauge shotguns for fast action. Eastslope Outfitters or our guides will provide flushing and retrieving dogs.Clients are welcome to bring their own trained hunting dogs. Outdoor kennels are available at no charge with reservation. In some cases, we allow clients to keep well-behaved dogs inside the house (prior approval required), with the understanding a cleaning/damage fee may be charged should the need occur. Early September dove wing-shooting is fast and furious, with Montana grain fields home to thousands of doves each year. Cast 'n Blast trips in the Fall include Bighorn River trout fishing with pheasant, upland bird, waterfowl or turkey hunting.
Waterfowl Hunts
Montana, United States • The Yellowstone River in southeast Montana is the major resting area in the central flyway for more than 100,000 migratory birds, with 70 miles of protected water not far from the private lands leased for hunting by Eastslope Outfitters. We can offer exclusive hunting for ducks and geese on numerous private fields, where birds are less wary... an excellent opportunity to hunt your limit of ducks and gesse with time leftover to photograph or video these magnificent migrations to share with family and friends back home. During the Fall migration, big northern Mallards flock into the Yellowstone River, and Greenheads work the corn like "Migs," providing plenty of action to go along with the geese. We use various methods and concealment tactics. My favorite is the layout coffin blind; its portability lets us travel to where the geese are feeding. Each Fall we dig some "stadium style seating" pit blinds.
Two Leggins Outfitters
Big Game HuntsFrom $1,500 to $6,000
Montana, United States • Elk hunting hunts are conducted from our first class lodge as base camp. We'll then travel each day to the 50,000 + ranch and hunt by 4x4 vehicles and on foot moving from vantage point to vantage point to locate that Montana buck of a lifetime. Mule Deer hunts population, unlike most of Western Montana, are going strong and don't have the challenge of wolves in their habit. Two Leggins Outfitters area traditionally harbors some real trophy Mule deer bucks and we only take mature bucks that are typically 4x4 unless it is a really nice 3x3 and there are some really nice quality Mule deer bucks. Whitetail Deer hunts - Here at Two Leggins Outfitters we have some excellent deer hunting available on the lower parts of the ranch and in the river bottom. This is again all private land where we hunt from blinds or vantage points from the high ground surrounding the river bottoms. Antelope hunts -There is always a couple weeks overlap of Deer and Antelope seasons.
Waterfowl HuntsStarting from $500
Montana, United States • Two Leggins Outfitters has access to over 20,000 acres of prime habitat for Upland Bird Hunting. Which includes Pheasants, Sharptail Grouse, Sage Grouse and Hungarian Partridge. The terrain consists of wheat fields, valley and creek bottoms which holds these elusive upland game birds. The Bighorn River never freezes due to it's tailwater nature and provides excellent habitat for Ducks and Geese. We target ducks and geese during their fall migration. Employing the use of drift boats and motor boats we can access prime hunting areas from which you will jump shoot or hunt over decoys.
Mark Young Outfitters
Archery Early Season Whitetail Deer HuntStarting from $2,300
Montana • All Private Land hunts are conducted on our four ranches totaling 20,000 acres of private ground along the majestic and famous Rocky Mountain Front at Augusta, Montana. The ranch has archery zones where no rifle hunting is allowed in any season. This is an excellent chance to take a trophy whitetail or mule deer with a bow. These archery areas are open during archery (Sept.) and rifle season (Oct.-Nov.). In September archers can take a trophy whitetail because the bucks are relaxed and have distinct feeding and watering patterns near the barley and alfalfa fields. Every year we take some excellent bucks in the 130 - 160+ class. To ensure better trophies in the future we have changed our deer harvesting requirements as follows: Both Archery & Rifle deer must be a 4 x 4 and score over 125 points Boone & Crockett. A $500 fee will be assessed to the hunter for shooting an immature deer. This will hopefully enable us to meet our goal for all hunters to harvest a 150 point B & C whitetail trophy! During the 2 week rut period we accomodate both archery and rifle hunters. We have three rustic cabins available for hunters, all with electricity, microwave, small frigerator and coffee makers. In the lodge are 2 inside baths or an Outhouse is near the cabins. Also in the Lodge is a kitchen, living room, 2 big bedrooms and utility room for the hunters use. There are 3 restaurants in Augusta (1 mile away) that give you a flavor of the local history and people. It is very convenient for the hunters to beable to eat around their own hunting schedule.
